www.cbr.com/doom-patrol-dc-universe-2018-release-date/In addition to the casting of Matt Bomer as Negative Man, DC revealed its upcoming Doom Patrol series will debut on DC Universe on December 12. Brendan Fraser, who plays Robotman, announced the premiere date at New York Comic Con during the Titans Q&A session. The series will bring together DC’s team of superheroic weirdos as they undergo a mission given to them by Cyborg. But before the Doom Patrol get their own series, members of the team will show up in fellow DC Universe series Titans in guest star roles. In addition, that show’s fifth episode, appropriately titled “Doom Patrol,” will serve as a backdoor pilot for the series and focus on the team overall. In the comics, the Doom Patrol served as Beast Boy’s adoptive family prior to him joining the Teen Titans. The Doom Patrol recently returned to the comics thanks to DC’s Young Animal imprint, with their comic written by Gerard Way and illustrated by Nick Derington ran for 11 issues. The Doom Patrol also appeared in the final season of the animated Teen Titans series for the first two episodes to help Beast Boy and the other Titans fight the Brotherhood of Evil. Debuting December 12 on DC Universe, Doom Patrol stars Timothy Dalton, Brendan Fraser, Joivan Wade, April Bowlby, Diane Guerrero, Alan Tudyk, and Matt Bomer.
