bloody-disgusting.com/tv/3547602/r-rated-alien-isolation-animated-series-reportedly-way/“R” Rated ‘Alien: Isolation’ Animated Series is Reportedly On the Way! One of Fox’s big initiatives for the 40th anniversary of Ridley Scott’s Alien this year has been the continuation of Amanda Ripley‘s story, the daughter of Ellen Ripley who was introduced proper in the video game Alien: Isolation back in 2014. That expansion was teased with a “Read. Play. Watch.” tagline, and thus far we’ve learned that the “Read” element is the comic book Aliens: Resistance, a sequel to Alien: Isolation, while the “Play” element is in reference to the new mobile game Alien: Blackout, which just launched last month. So what about that “Watch” element, you ask? Well, Observer is reporting today – and this lines up with a recent rumor that two different Alien-related series’ are in the works – that an Alien: Isolation animated series is also on the way this year, courtesy of Axis Animation. The site reports, “Sources tell us that an R-rated animated series based on the video game Alien: Isolation is being developed for a seven-episode run.” They note that the series “could arrive as early as April,” adding: “We’re told the digital series may make its home on the Alien website, though that remains unknown at this time.” Also unknown is the fate of the Alien film franchise, but it seems that Fox (soon to be owned by Disney) is in the meantime working on expanding the franchise in unique new ways.

www.dreadcentral.com/news/289807/breaking-the-alien-project-fox-has-been-teasing-for-months-is-an-r-rated-animated-web-series-based-on-alien-isolation/BREAKING: The ALIEN Project Fox Has Been Teasing for Months is an R-Rated Animated Web Series Based on ALIEN: ISOLATION www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQARDLEE2F4For months we’ve been hearing that Fox was planning one last hurrah for the Alien franchise before their merger goes into effect and it officially becomes the property of Disney. There were rumors of a live-action TV series on a streaming network, but the actuality is probably something fans weren’t expecting. We’re getting an R rated (yay!) animated (huh?) web series. The Observer broke the news: Sources tell us that an R-rated animated series based on the video game Alien: Isolation is being developed for a seven-episode run. The series apparently hails from Axis Animation, which also did the VFX work on the game, and could arrive as early as April. We’re told the digital series may make its home on the Alien website, though that remains unknown at this time. For the uninitiated, here’s the gist of the video game Alien: Isolation: Discover the true meaning of fear in Alien: Isolation, a survival horror set in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger. Fifteen years after the events of Alien, Ellen Ripley’s daughter, Amanda enters a desperate battle for survival, on a mission to unravel the truth behind her mother’s disappearance. As Amanda, you will navigate through an increasingly volatile world as you find yourself confronted on all sides by a panicked, desperate population and an unpredictable, ruthless Alien. Overcome an ever-present deadly threat – Experience persistent fear as a truly dynamic and reactive Alien uses its senses to hunt you down and respond to your every move. Improvise to survive – Hack systems, scavenge for vital resources and craft items to deal with each situation. Will you evade your enemies, distract them or face them head on? One of our favorite UK film critics and academics, Mr. H, discusses the project in the video embedded at the top of the article.
