The Suicide Squad: James Gunn Reveals Full Cast - With a Warning
Meet The Suicide Squad.
James Gunn, who will write and direct the upcoming DC Extended Universe film, revealed the movie's cast on Twitter with a word of warning: "Don't get too attached." Though the image reveals the actors attached to the project, it doesn't reveal which character each star will play.
The image includes the following names, in no particular order: David Dastmalchian, John Cena, Jai Courtney, Joaquin Cosio, Nathan Fillion, Joel Kinnaman, Mayling Ng, Flulfa Borg, Sean Gunn, Juan Diego Botto, Storm Reid, Pete Davidson, Taika Waititi, Alice Braga, Steve Agee, Tinashe Kajese, Daniela Melchior, Peter Capaldi, Julio Ruiz, Jennifer Holland, Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Margot Robbie and Michael Rooker.
Robbie, Davis, Kinnaman and Courtney all appeared in the first Suicide Squad film, which released in 2016. It seems likely they will reprise their roles from the first movie.
Likewise, many of these stars have been rumored to join the film. Though none of their characters are confirmed, reports claim Dastmalchian will play Polka-Dot Man, Agee will voice King Shark, Elba will fill the role of Bronze Tiger, Melchior will play Ratcatcher and Cena will portray Peacemaker. However, none of these rumors have been confirmed, by this image or otherwise, at the time of writing.
Written and directed by James Gunn, The Suicide Squad is set to hit theaters Aug. 6, 2021. Several cast members from 2016's Suicide Squad are expected to reprise their roles, including Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang. Also joining the cast are Idris Elba, David Dasmalchian and Daniela Melchior.
