Annabelle 3 Gets an Official Title, Release Date
by Shawn S. Lealos – on Mar 15, 2019
The next movie in the ever-expanding Conjuring Universe is hitting theaters this year. Annabelle 3, the sixth movie in the franchise, will hit theaters on June 28.
On top of the news that the movie is arriving in just three short months, Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema also released the name for the third movie in the Annabelle branch of the universe: Annabelle Comes Home.
The last movie in the Conjuring Universe was The Nun in 2018 and it was another huge success for the franchise, making $117 million domestically and $365 worldwide on a $22 million budget. The two Annabelle movies combined to make $186 million domestically on budgets of $6.5 million and $14 million, respectively. Combined, the franchise has made $1.5 billion worldwide.
Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson are both returning to the franchise as Lorraine and Ed Warren, and McKenna Grace (The Haunting of Hill House) signed on to star as their daughter. This movie is supposed to take place after the Annabelle doll is placed in the Warrens' museum, but likely before it was seen floating in the ocean in Aquaman.
Gary Dauberman, who co-wrote both It and It: Chapter 2, will make his directorial debut with the new Annabelle movie.
Annabelle Comes Home is written and directed by Gary Dauberman and stars Patrick Wilson, Vera Farmiga, Mckenna Grace and Madison Iseman. James Wan, who directed both core Conjuring entries, will produce. The film hits theaters on June 28.
