BY REG CRUICKSHANK 6 MINUTES AGO In a tweet by twitter user RTSchumacherCut, a video of Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy saw him reciting his famous "I am vengeance, I am the night" speech from Batman: The Animated Series and calling for a director's cut of the 1995 superhero film Batman Forever. The tweet comes from an account made to honor the memory of the late Joel Schumacher, who passed away this June due to cancer. Similarly to the #ReleasetheSynderCut movement which fought for Zack Snyder's rendition of Justice League to be released, #ReleasetheSchumacherCut advocates for Schumacher's original vision of Batman Forever to be released. The tweet reads, "Special Message from Kevin Conroy @realkevinconroy wants to see the directors cut of Batman Forever So what are you waiting for #ReleaseTheSchumacherCut " Batman Forever is a film that is somewhat infamous among fans of the Dark Knight, often criticized for deviating from the darker tone of the Tim Burton films that preceded it. The film received mixed reviews from critics at the time. Schumacher's later film, Batman & Robin, was much more poorly received amongst critics and fans. However, both Schumacher Batman films have grown to see their own cult fan status. Batman: The Animated Series, the show in which Conroy first voiced the Caped Crusader, was heavily inspired by the Tim Burton Batman film universe, creating a strong connection between his role and the Schumacher Cut cause.
